1967 Coronet with 318. Was factory 383 with 4 speed and still set up for 4 speed. Changing over after body work is done. Floors and trunk are solid. More videos coming soon. Let me know what you think. COMMENT AND RATE!
Go back to toally stock specs. If you like the 383/4 spd combo, it will be well worth restoring it correctly, both for yourself and the highest resale value. That's only my opinion, some may like the resto-mods, some like all-out custom. In the end, you should do it exactly the way YOU like it since you're the one who will be living with it.
Go with the 4-speed tranny, build the motor with forged internals, lower the compression and do a nice heads and cam setup with a decent carb and throw a Garret GT42 turbo on it. I know many many people will disagree but think of it this way. You can have fun with that setup, making power like a big block but being able to keep it out of boost and keep the power low when you want. Also, you can put a 383 in it when you decide to move on to something else.
