Are there any episodes somewhere of The New Andy Griffith Show?

Mayberry RFD what a failure only aired thirteen episodes in '71.

i almost hate that this didnt work out, because TAGS is one of the all time best series. perhaps THE best. and if this had wored and Barney could have been on it, just think of how many more episodes we could have enjoyed. But then again..i loved it so much, that after Matlock went off i would have been happy if they'd have re done TAGS with them all older (helen crump even had a bit part on Matlock, or 1 epi anyway. dont know if she was living by end of Matlock though)

@YourLastViewer aunt bea didnt leave, she stayed thru the AGS series. There may have been an episode or two that she wasnt in during it, but she came back, IIRC. Knotts left the show because Andy had decided to leave, thus taking show off air. by the time he changed his mind, Don Knotts couldnt get out of it, and had other commitments. which is why he came back as often as he did. color episodes were never as good anyway!

I don't recall ever seeing this show. Wish that I had. I missed the AGS when it went off. and I thought the worst thing that happened was Mayberry RFD. (shiver) Sorry. I know it had some fans, but I could never like it. I felt the same way with EVERY show that followed the I Love Lucy series. I guess when you have perfection it's hard to accept second best. lol

@YourLastViewer I believe it was Alice Ghostley who replaced Aunt Bea. She is the only other one that I remember ever being there.

Fu*king communist !

From reading his lips.....it sounds like Barney may have said, "I've got a rowing machine."

I love the Andy Griffith show.
Brings back great memories.

Aunt Bea stayed through the entire Andy Griffith Show and two of the three seasons of Mayberry RFD
After a certain point, Andy and Don were incomplete performers without each other. Andy couldn't play Andy and Don couldn't play Barney unless Andy and Don played Andy and Barney. They each created and played the two characters, they didn't exist separately.
Thank you so much for posting this.

Without a doubt, one of the strangest, most inexplicable crossovers in sitcom history. The original AGS would never have done this, at least during the first five seasons.
