www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Electro-Harmonix Germanium OD Overdrive pedal is built around actual germanium transistors for that 60's overdrive tone. The EH Germanium OD gives you external control over Bias and Voltage instead of annoying internal trimmers. With the true germanium transistors, the Electro-Harmonix Germanium OD Overdrive pedal gives you a real blast from the past with 60's tone and playability.
The Electro-Harmonix Germanium OD Overdrive pedal sounds like playing in your parents garage in 1965. The gritty, bright overdrive is perfect for indie rock and the Bias and Voltage controls give you the power to starve out the transistor for that gated, dead battery tone. Without the starve action, the EH Germanium OD is smooth and sweet with a natural richness that is unusual for Electro-Harmonix. If your old school, or just think you are, check out the Electro-Harmonix Germanium OD Overdrive pedal.

  • @musicman7478 It depends what you are trying to do with each different boss pedal, be more specific.

"Boss sucks." that's very interesting considering they've sold 30,000,000 pedals world wide and professionals world wide use their equipment.

  • I just got this pedal and absolutely love it aside from the god awful hum that it produces. Using both battery and a 1Spot power supply (together and separately) I seems to continuously hum. I am using a fender stratocaster with single coil pickups which I know will be a factor in adding some hum but when played clean there is nearly no hum. Would placing a EHX humdebugger after this pedal eliminate the hum?

  • @Maxwerm -You truly understand this pedal. I use it in front of my mesa mark 1 reissue and prs santana and it's absolutely classic and authentic.

  • @vanzeposmith910 The song at the beginning is "Hang On To Yourself" by David Bowie

  • What's that riff or song at the beginning called? It's awesome!

  • Thank you very much Andy! Your review of the EHX Germanium OD helped me regain my confidence in my P90's and solved my long time "noiseless overdrive/distortion" problem with them!. I´m amazed of how expectacular they sound now! Now I feel them even less noisy than my regular humbuckers. So, you could say that this is bonus noise reduction benefit for for P90's users, adding the fuzz!!! Thanks again. Next! Malekko Wolftone Helium to continue building my new "vintage pedalboard" for my P90's.

  • Hmm sounds vaguely fuzz face-ish at some points

  • @tralfamadorian42 I agree, and I also think the idea on this pedal is met, as the guy said at the beginning of the video, the pedal is not that much of an overdrive, I don't think this pedal is meant to work with much tone anyways

  • hey man, you're messin' with the Spiders From Mars.

  • I love this pedal and it bugs me when people complain about no tone knobs or knobs for hi's mids and lo's. How many tone knobs do you need people?! your guitar doesn't have one? blahaahdasdhdjafhadkuewubceb

  • Hang Onto Yourself ! Bowie rulez !
