New America Media's Editor, Andrew Lam, Returns home in 2004 with a film crew to Vietnam for visit. Andrew is Author of Perfume Dreams, Reflections on the Vietnamese Diaspora and long time commentator on NPR's All Things Considered.

  • i left vietnam in 1986 under the Orderly Departure Program, your story deeply touched my heart. I am going back to Vietnam for the very first time in july of 2009, quite nervous and not expecting how to overcome my emotional.

  • War is hell. Its really too bad that there still unsolved emotions that lingers. For all overseas and Vietnamese left behinds there a lots of pain, disappointment, and suffering that everyone must goes through.

    I know my father who fought on the south side rarely talk about his experience and battle deep deep depression.
