I love Hyacinth Bucket!...err sorry...'Bouquet'...i remember watching her as a child and i still find the show hilarious and charming. Long may she reign, they don't make comedies like this anymore. :)

@markxxx21 I think that Hyacinth and her family were likely working class people, a bit higher-up than Daisy, Rose and Onslo, but not up to where Hyacinth and Richard are. I'd say that Richard and Bruce were always firmly entrenched in middle class. Financially Bruce is upper-middle class, socially that's a question mark. Social strata work a bit differently in England than they do here, maybe its his trade that keeps Bruce from being considered upper-middle class?

Hyacinth is lower class as is Violet, they married to better themselves, though Richard and Violet's husband aren't upper class by any means.

i can't help but wonder if hyacinth and violet come from a rich family and daisy is only poor coz she married onslow. or did they come from a poor family and violet and hyacinth married rich husbands?
