Produced in 1999 for Land Rover dealers: Join world adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes as he explores 50 years of Land Rover history, including personal reminiscences from some of the people who were instrumental in making the marque a world icon - Spen King, Geoff Miller, Tom Barton and Roger Craithorne. The story begins with archival footage from post-war Britain, and old home movies of the first "go-anywhere, do-anything" prototypes, with narration by Stephen and Patrick Wilks, whose father and uncles created the first Land Rover in 1948. From the beaches at Anglesey to the world stage, from a simple "Farmer's best friend" to a global explorer, from the first spartan models to the luxury Range Rover of today, this film portrays the history of Land Rover in a very personal fashion. And it gives views an understand of why so many enthusiasts and owners around the world are still "mad keen on the Land Rover."
