  • Wow, that looks delicious! I'm going to try it tomorrow.

  • @SouthernBellePrepper Use pork or chicken. Either are great. The secret is to blend the flavors of the tomatoes and the honey. Careful with that cayenne pepper!

  • This looks yummy!!!!! What time is dinner? :)

  • @oaktreega The pork and tomatoes are all gone. I've plenty more canned ingredients though, and now know fresh meat isn't a bit better for this than canned. I've always done fresh chicken in the past, but the canned pork is even better.

  • Its always very satisfying to have a meal from your own food, things you have developed a relationship to, and you know where it came from.

  • @logcabinlooms You're singing my song when it comes to knowing where your food comes from. A coworker asked me yesterday if I had made arrangement's with someone to take care of any deer I might get this year. I told her no, and that I had a knife. That didn't go over very well. We're all to conditioned to not think about where our food comes from.

  • @JaxRL Hi JaxRL! Good to hear from you. Mead is probably the easiest of the drinks to make. It's honey, water, and yeast. Beer making for Dummies has in it the recipe I used. If you get interested send me a PM and I'll find my book and look it up for you.

  • Looks great! Mead is on the list of things to try to make.

  • @MyDaddysgirl44 The honey helps offset the acidity of the tomatoes. Between the two contrasting flavors, a nice balance is achieved. Adding in the hot pepper really brings it to life.
