Hogan in 1984 after winning the title was more popular then Austin was..Hogan brought wrestling to ALL the industrialized nations of the world,into their living rooms.Austin only helped mccmahon on the brink of bancruptsy thanks to the boring HBK and diesel,needed to create the "lude" era not the "attitude" era because along with austins character,came hot asses from woman.This entire era needed aspects of each of these characters to amplify the other characters including austin.

@PsychosamaticLP Alot like the gladiator.Austin was the Maximus of his period,the greatest gladiator but Hogan was the Hercules of mythology.A little more profound status thruout the 4 decades he wrestled.Austin barely made it 8 years ,hogan only needed back street local cable stations to start and grew into a world phenomenon,the beginning of the chain of entertainment wrestling started with HOGAN,Austin is a link in the original hogan chain.Hope this clears it up a little more for you..

@PsychosamaticLP I figure hogan wanted that finale and austin didnt want the hulking up because it plays into hogans credit more.SHould have compromised as the Rock did but if the rock knew what would happen in toronto with history being made, a heel is cheered on against the most popular wrestler at that time,he would't have agreed on the hulking up either.You cant touch this aspect of hogan.As he said,"its not vinces world when Im out there,its my world and no one can do anything about it"

@PsychosamaticLP The hulking up was the greatest finale in wrestling history casue it wasnt just a stunner or a peoples elbow,it consisted of a 5 part sequence which bilt on itself to a level frenzy not heard in entertainment history bro,forget wrestling,nothing in sprts history compared to that frenzy of the crowd.Thats what its ALL ABOUT!

@PsychosamaticLP AND NEVER FORGET IF THEY FOUGHT,IF HOGAN GOT TO THE INFAMOUS "HULKING UP" FINALE,THE CROWD WOULD GO IN A FRENZY FOR HOGAN AND AUSTIN WOULD NEVER HEAR ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN HIS LIFE AS THE ROCK WAS BLOWN AWAY AND ACTUALLY CRIED AFTER THE MATCH WITH HOGAN BECAUSE HE REALIZED DEEP DOWN ,THIS IS THE REAL KING TO THE REAL WRESTLING FANS ACROSS THE GLOBE, EVEN IF THEY OUTSELL HIM.

@PsychosamaticLP They should have agreed to a draw.Someone was a dickhead in those negotiations.Judging from hogan jobbing out to everyone in 2002 after wonning the belt from triple H,it was probably austin that was being the big dick in negotiations.You have to be a little jealous of hogan being in austins shoes because theres a possibility no matter how popular austin was or is,he may never get out od hogans shadow as the real mr wrestling in history.

@PsychosamaticLP You need to look at this more in a business frame of mind.Hogan didnt have the internet to promote him and his products when he was on top for 15 years.Austin had the priviledge of internet access marketing ,exposure,you name it,he had it.Hogan would outsource him in a minute and dont forget austin supplemented the "Lewd era" that vince created to save his ass .Austins character fit perfect in the lewd era thus made him more popular along with internet promos

You can go to any part of the world and people know who Hogan is, you can't say that about Steve Austin.

Also, not many know this but Hogan had some great matches in Japan, those were his best matches as a wrestler, since in japan they dont go for that power/strong wrestling like in the states, they love skill, and watching Hogan fighting that type of matches over there was a real eye opener, i used to think he was mediocre in the art of wrestling since he didn't show much moves in the states.
