Original song by Terry Lindsay, performed by Danny Mieczynski. Various family and friends at the holidays.
The song was written for my parents for Christmas, 1999. It was later included on the Broadway Cares Christmas CD, performed by members of the cast of The Boy From Oz.
It Won't Feel Like Christmas
'til I get home,
I won't feel it's magic 'til I'm there with you.
Though my Christmas wishes may turn to snow,
Carols, gifts, mistletoe.
It won't feel like Christmas 'til I get home to you.
Even with the bright lit windows,
Even with the sound of carols playing.
Even with the hush of snow fall, of church bells, of moon fall.
Johnny Mathis singing "Sleigh Ride"
The clutter of wrapping and bows;
The Christmas Tree
And family are calling me, "Come home."
It won't feel like Christmas 'til I get home
I won't feel its magic til I'm there with you.
Though my Christmas wishes may turn to snow,
Carols, gifts, mistletoe.
It won't feel like Christmas til I get home to
You and our memories of Christmases of the past:
Those who've loved us, but are gone - still remain... loved the same
It won't feel like Christmas til I get home. etc..
Well Done! Hope to see you all this holiday season.
