  • Spent all my life on Sheppey!Been telling everyone its crap, now Im older my views seem to have changed somewhat!.Yeah ok of course theres better places u could be living, but theres also alot of places who dont get the opportunity to wake up in the morning and watch the sunrise over the sea, watch the moon rise over the cliffs n watch the chavs scratch your next door neighbors car!! If I move away oneday this place will always be my home, the memories I have will never leave me..but Im outa here!!

  • Thanks for your comment. I am glad that I am not alone in trying to promote a positive image of the Island. It is true that there are some better places, but Sheppey does have a lot to offer. The hardest thing is to overcome the negative attitudes of local people who fail to see what assets they have under their noses.

  • my fiancee used to live on the island and so did i for a while, it may have its draw backs but so does everyother place when in the right time and place the isle of sheppey does have its scenic beauty. but i do feel that if the island pulled together and got rid of all the trouble makers and chavs it could be a start to making kent back to being the garden of england it used to be

  • Thanks for your message. I have to agree with you. If everyone pulled together then things would improve. I think its starting and there does seem to be a few less chavs about. The problem is when you start to clear the compost heap, you find other pests to get rid of before you can turn it into a habitable garden! Keep the diologue going.

  • I was born on the island in 1961 and lived there until I was eighteen. It was without question, the most violent and depressing place to live. Absolutely squalid in every respect. Fights every evening outside the pubs, countless people unemployed and on drugs. I know it's changed somewhat, but it still has a very long way to go. This little video makes it look nice, but it's mostly propaganda.

  • Thanks for your comment. I don't think this is propaganda because things are really starting to change on the Island. Aldi the German supermarket chain have just announced that they will be building their regional headquarters at Rushenden. This is one of many new companys that are lining up.

I am passionate about the place in which I live and one of the hardest tasks is to convince everyone that change is really happening and the future looks good.

  • all you who slag the island off i think your all wankers and really havnt got a clue .you go on about chavs your probably an essex bod yaself you mug .you probably havnt even been here and as for saying about incest your probably a fucking paedophile you prick so keep your opinions to yaself ok

  • ive lived here for 36 yrs and as a kid it was a great place to grow up , i can think of a lot worse.so everyone who slags it down you dont have to come here and quite frankly we dont want you.yes it has its high unemployment level and drug use but tell where hasnt these days? if the place was that bad why is it that you get so many visitors and people retiring here . i love my home and wont be moving so your stuck with me.

  • i love sheppy evry thing down to the last bomb on the baech and im makeing my life goal to clean up sheppy no more rockey beachs no more poor houseing no more vilonce who with me!?

  • i do think it looks a lot better now than it did 15 years ago when i lived there 15yrs ago, the negativity from ppl duz my head in, tryin to make a nicer place to live n providing more job opportunities is great...get the unemployed ("chavs" as sum1 put it) employed n out of trouble... i think that if ppl try n accept that its not as if it's ppl r livin in bluddy mud huts on the marshes n that times r changing, if u think itz that shit, move, no 1s forcin u to stay there.

  • I'm coming to work here soon.

Should I wear my suit of armour?

  • If God wanted to give Kent an enema, Sheppy is where he'd stick the tube.

  • Sheppey - a LOCAL island for LOCAL people.

Motto: - "Paddle faster, I can hear banjos"

  • cant sell it ever its a hole i lived there for years still visit family there

if kent is the garden of england this is the outside loo

  • My sister lives on Sheppey and I love visiting down there. You have a pretty clean beach. It's a good base to explore Kent. I feel safer there than where I live. Yes there are a couple of bad things but where on earth doesn't have problems? I say to the people who live on Sheppey and are negative about the place that they should live where I do up north. Flytipping is rife, rats are a very common sight even in daylight and we have one of the most violent town centres. A no go area!

  • any chance is this about SHEPPEY , ha brilliant he must say sheppey so many times

Sheppey sheppey sheppey . I still love it though
