@minnescanada many thanks for the info.i played bass as a pro in the 50s to 80s in and around london.we used to go to ronnie scotts club and myself and a couple of pals had the pleasure of oscars company during a long interval he sat with us for 45 mins .what humility what a lovely man.he was more interested in what we were doing than anything else.i can tell you that meeting is etched in my heart and you are so right we are indeed blessed to have the wonderful oliver.thanks again.

@exjazzbassbaz Yes, Oscar's older sister taught Jones for many years in the 1940s and 50s. Oliver lived just down the street from Oscar and was heavily influenced by him. We are blessed to have him still with us.
