I swear, nearly every CFL bulb I screw in winds up screwing me, in return.

  • That hum and that flickering, plus the fact that they've died with in weeks is normally what happens if they're in a circuit with a dimmer, even if you never dim them, the current is arround 5 times higher and it just cooks the components inside!

  • Bingo! The light with the hum and flickering is on a dimmer. However, the first light is NOT on a dimmer and they're still dying quickly. Maybe it is the wiring in my house.

  • you must just have bad luck i never have problems with mine i spend twenty dollars a piece on mine though... they have not burn out and I have had them over a year already...

  • no there not cheap dumb fuck i have the same fixture in my bath room and one goes out every month in the same socket. they trip occationally

  • get used to it ive been using them for years they burn out as quick as the old ones

  • @poiiihy I have 4 GreenLite in use and they are about a year old working as good as Day 1! They seem better than FEIT, which my second set of those seem very good.

  • Don't use a dimmer! Screw them in by the base NOT the bulb. I have MANY that have lasted over a year.

  • get leds or at least n:vision lights. NEVER get GreenLite..

  • There probably not a good brand

  • yes they r

  • Iv got 7of this things in my house right now And thay bin hear for all most 9 years now, I like the old ones better,

  • It could be a surge from the substation, a slight differential in amperage can fry the ballast on a CFL if the amperage stays below 2 amps the lamps will not die rapidly.
