  • @Jimmypage198765 Zeppelin was great and certainly influenced Metallica, but they are far from being a major influence on them. It would be more accurate to say that without Black Sabbath there would be no Metallica. But Zeppelin is on a different branch.

  • You guys sure like to talk some shit.

  • Here are some coments saying that metallica is influenced by Blach Sab. Led Zep. or bands like it, but here a thing, I saw an interview to kirk that the question is What is the major influenced band for them. His said Queen, Led, Black... And in the end he said something that should shut up all of you. He said that metallica plays what they want, they do what they wanna do not what the fans wanna. Metallica is just a groupe of peolple that in the 80s started just for fun, not for honor bands...

  • @UpTheSnakes Which got him intrigued by the music scene. James was inspired through a great number of music acts, including Sabbath. Taken the fact that the birth of metallica was - more or less - a collab. between Lars and James, so you could say BS and Deep purple had some major inspirations. But all that is said above is 100% true, King diamond and Motorhead are some major influences as well.. And I think I should have chosen my words more wisely, (mixing up influence/inspiration

  • @LetsGoMetsGo33 I hear a lot of Blackmore in Hammet's playing. The solos in The Day That Never Comes are absolute Blackmore. Like Blackmore's playing in Highway Star, Burn, Kill The King, Spotlight Kid... It's inspired by Bach as well.

  • but marty friedman is a much better player than kirk hammett and he played with jason becker who was one of the best technical players of his time but jimmy page owns everyone he is your god little boy

  • he's playing the flourish jimmy played at the beginning of 'how many more times' that they used in their early 1969-1970 live shows.

  • Allow me to enter your interesting discussion. Without this or that band no Metallica...Mmmm Maybe. You can discuss that. But: Without Metallica, no Megadeth.

  • @ZeppelinDude62 Zeppelin rocks, but metallica does too. James Hetfield listed his top 5 bands, and Zep was #1

  • zeppelin is classic and other must learn from classic, how to play...
