  • Bonham vs Neil. Listen to Bonham's childish beat and banal fills during all 8 minutes of Kashmir, then hear Peart's performance on Xanadu. Peart left Bonham far behind in his musical evolution. Steve Smith from Journey, that must be a joke, or musical retardation on your part. Danny Carey is a fantastic drummer, and he'll tell you himself that he was greatly influenced by (and greatly admires) Peart's work.

  • neil never intended to fill buddys shoes or even emulate him...this is just a honourary piece of music that was inspired to him and the rest of buddies music was a true inspiration to him.

It just happens to be that neil is a true consumate professsional who also happens to be with the best rock power trio ever RUSH !!! and neil aswell as rush are an inspiration to us all. godbless to buddy, god bless to neil, alex, and geddy in giving us YOUR MUSIC THAT INSPIRES US ALL, what a man brave sir !!

  • NP is a genius. and a total gentleman.

  • count basie

  • I'm sorry but the pianist doesn't work. Maybe if he played more sparse like Basie or Monk, it would have sound right and wouldn't have dragged.

  • Someone pronounced his name for once!

  • @vaporarrows Bonham is amazing, and Kashmir is supposed to be simple, that's what makes it so clever. They're both amazing drummers, and Bonham influenced Neil, as well as basically every drummer after him.I still love Neil Peart, & youre an idiot for saying such a thing. I'm sure if you were to ask Neil himself, he would say Bonham was amazing, and the fact that you're so ignorant lets me know that you know absolutely nothing about music, and that if you do you're an extremely immature musician

  • i almost like ruusshhesses sense of humor better than the tunes.... prog rock got me into striaght up jazz/ -fusion and world music. so thanks rush.......and bill bruford.

  • @vaporarrows I disagree about Steve Smith, I think he's pretty darn good but there are so many great drummers and it's hard to compare different types of drummers. Neil is a great talent and my favorite drummer not just because of his talent but because he seems like a classy guy, been through a lot of tragedy and has come back strong, doesn't seem to have let fame and money go to his head. Actually all the Rush guys seem that way. I respect him as well as admire his talent.

  • @audioclaudio1 If you said this to my face I would KEEL you. Ok, so maybe I won't KEEL you but I'ma give ya a bruise man thats just hateful talk wassa matta you?

You know damn well you'd give Neil a reacharound.

  • Leftimat you nailed it bro. *Buys you a beer*

  • You can tell all the naysayers here don't have a clue about drumming. It's really sad.
