It DOES work by accelerometer, its just turned off as default, I leave it off, as it can get annoying if it happens when u dont want it to. its in the phone settings menu.

the headphones you received are the bad and cheaper model! in the retail version you get amazing in ear style headphones with silicone which close out all enviroment noise around you! they also put a lot of base on your ears! definitly a great included feature as you can save yourself about 80€ for decent sennheiser headphones!
