Emily's video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAJODUPVF9A&feature=channel_video_title

Don't underestimate the misery that went into making this video...seriously I had major brain crack about it, epic plans, I wanted annotations and links to videos where I talked about my recent trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, one where I talked about how fun it was and one where I talked more about the things that didn't work out or weren't fun and it would be like choose your own adventure and you could pick one based on your current state of mind. And I tried filming and editing these videos twice but really I just can't do unscripted, talking-about-a-trip vlogs, they were just awful and boring and didn't really add anything to the conversation. Grr exciting-plans-in-your-head-that-don't-work-out...

  • This is a great video, nice job. A lot of truth here. I don't know about Youtubers being nice though. The tone on youtube is frankly very hostile. Especially on some of the debates on philosophers. I think it has to do with people being anonymous, and people not feeling accountable for their actions. Humans beings without accountability and being anonymous is a recipe for disaster, given the fact that I think human nature itself has a dark side. Inmendham complains about everything though

  • @natedaug1 I think it depends also on which part of the youtube community - I've always considered myself part of the nerdfighter community started by the vlogbrothers, and there are a lot of good things and good people going on with that. But even within the nerdfighter community there are still trolls...you're definitely right, there will always be issues when people have the ability to remain anonymous and not accountable.

  • yeah, I definitely agree with the1janitor. I like to view vloggers as people and I like to try to perceive as well as I can what they'd be like in real life. I think you're doing a pretty awesome job! :)

  • @BlakesNo1 I'm glad you think so! So, I'm curious...how do you perceive I am in real life? :)

  • @alyiswriting kind, not shy but quiet and reserved even when you're feeling opinionated. but I think you'd always take a nice approach to anything. I can see you enjoying the little things and being a real thinker.

    correct or incorrect?!

  • @BlakesNo1 Pretty spot on, although I wouldn't say I'm not shy! But that's just so awesome, that you're able to have such a good sense of me in real life from my videos.

  • I honestly find myself more bored and annoyed with the "happy all the time" type of vloggers than the ones that whine and complain a lot. When it comes to vlogging, I'm much more interested in people who seem like actual human beings. I mean if you're doing a show, like wheezywaiter, or tobuscus, sure you're going to play a certain role everytime. But with regular vlogs I prefer people who are happy sometimes, sad sometimes, angry sometimes, smart sometimes, stupid sometimes. Like real people.

  • Vloggers who incessantly complain and rant about the negative in life are boring, UNLESS you're Kingsley from ItsKingsleyBitch hahahaha. His videos never get old, he's hilarious!

  • @alyiswriting Yeah the nerdfighters are nice. They seem like cool guys, so it does depend on the community. I do think when people are anonymous it is recipe for disaster. Human beings without accountability, not all but many, turn into total mush often, sadly

  • @alyiswriting YES totally! I love her! I subscribe to her and listen to her iTunes podcast and everything, hahaha.

  • I have a lot of respect for people that make honesty a priority in their vlogs, and the funny thing is that most of them don't come off as being whinny or obnoxious, they just come off as being real. That's impressive. It's kind of ironic how hard it is to be a real person.

  • @the1janitor Well said.
