It's not the hook in the wall, it's the wire on the back of the picture frame that is the problem! The Apex Clamp is way better! You can first place your hooks paralle in the wall, and the hang your art on them perfectly stright on them. And, you can switch them around and they'll still hang perfectly stright!

This "gadget" is just another failed attempt!
