Dave Chappelle illustrates for Oprah one of many reasons he walked away from his show at the height of its success amid $50 million dollar offer to continue his show. Dave explains how Hollywood emaculates men and how he took a stand while filming with Martin.

  • Dave Chappelle is just a man who thinks for himself and because he won't allow society to program him it's easier to call him crazy.

  • jews...patrick swayze too...

  • I see his point showing all those successful black comedians wearing dresses at some point in their career. But I think all successful performers, white or black have to kiss a little ass and do something hacky on the way up. However, once you make it and are a success you can then take a stand and tell "the man" to go fuck themselves. I think Dave is making it a "dance for me nigger" thing rather than a paying your show business dues thing.

  • There's something going fucking wrong with our culture.

  • TRUTH!

  • No I dont think he's crazy for turning down the money. It comes down to personal preference. Not everything (or everyone) is for sale. What he stood by was more important to him than money & he has that right. Its that simple. He's very talented & funny & he does not have to sell himself short if it dosent make him happy.

  • Dave Chappelle should be commended for taking a stance on not wearing a dress. Wish there were more brothers like him. Word Up!

  • Dave is so true.

    Most comics are stereotypes -

I like some of Kevin Hart - but

he is becoming that - look for

    him in a dress soon.

    Dave is the best.

  • this day and age the women are are the horndogs cheating.

    i hate the modern age.

  • What emasculates men is in these "romantic comedies" it's always the man who fucks up and then apologizes, like in Cocktail, and Tin Men.
