@artpimpjulz You love what you grow up with - and then you reject the previous generation. They have to be 'square', 'un-hip' and 'so last week', until the subsequent generation re-discovers them as 'classics'!

Well I thought quite little of Stevie, just by my imagination, until I was 18 and heard him for the first time. I don't know if the image I had of him was because of the general image by everyone, my generation or just by me but he just blew me away when I heard him for the first time. I hadn't heard his greatest songs before that so I thought he was not rated as high by his greater works.

Even though Stevie Wonder is quite well recognized I think he is still underrated.

As a teen in the 80s, it wasn't a great time to listen to stevie.
It wasn't til i went back a decade to the blues brothers film that i caught a glimpse of that raw vitalty.
Off to download Songs in the key of life from itunes. Been putting it off for too long....

Yeah. I'm not sure nowadays if I think a artist is underrated or if he/she is only underrated by my generation... If you know what I mean

In most cases, you love what you grow up with.
And in most cases - what you grow up with is what is on the radio or tv.
There is so much that we can't love it all - everthing from the brodway production of sweeney todd to Alice coopers early punk stuff.
songs in the key of life - just downloaded it and its goregeous - so much more than the singles we know and the ones that have been ripped off.

Apparently this series will never be released on dvd for legal reasons of copyright.
