  • This is my boys shit. But no I don't think he shaved them. He stuffed it in and got it to work.

  • That's a very beautiful motor, I've got a project 65 mustang with a 351W in it, sure hope I can get it to look something and sound something like that.

  • Why did you keep it 351w? Is there some reason why you didn't go 393 or 408 stroker with it? I have a 91 GT I am going to pull the 302 out of and drop a 351w in. I will be keeping it 351 however since I can't afford the stroker kit plus the AFR heads, cam, and super victor intake I am going to get. I am debating on keeping it fuel injected or converting it to carb. I'm leaning towards carb for the simplicity, less engine bay clutter, etc.

  • There were two cars that I've had great difficulty in locating headers for. Mopar big block A-Bodies, and the Mav. and Comets with the 5.0. I think JC Whitney had 'em for the Mav./Com. But the stock 5.0 seemed pretty tight as it was. What mods did you have to do to shoehorn it in ? Great lil cars w/ smallblocks though. Very Underrated and overlooked sleepers. But it's just those fucking shock towers that are such a fucking hurdle. I'm a Mopar man anyway.

  • @Nsphere My daddy has a 72 Comet and the 5.0 in there seems tight. If it were mine, I'd eliminate the shock towers altogether and probably go with a new k-member w/different a superior shock configuration. But if I did, it would be more than these cars are worth. That's why I'm a Mopar Man.Chrysler never did that supid hourglass shock tower in the engine bay cuz people needed every inch of that engine bay. I haven't seen the Comet shock mounts enough to re-locate 'em and eliminate the towers.

  • @351WpoweredbyFord Yea i later found that out. The guy that told me evidently didnt know what he was talking about. I have removed the 5.0l and installed the 351w into my 84 gt mustang and it seems to have a like a 1.5inch taller deck.
