The last book i so read by this out standing writer was "shock wave"! his work helped me with the drive to seek to write my 1st book {Elisheva & The way stones} that i am writing on line at writing . com

Cussler's books are really well written adventure books often with a little bit of a historical fiction element to them. Good reads, all of them. To anyone who hates on Clive, seriously? You try being a New York Times best selling author.

Dirk Pitt etc remind me of the Thunder Birds TV show. I have read five of Clive's novels and that's the impression I get. Just a nice simple adventure story with a few twists along the way.

Cyclops was a thriller and now I'm reading Polar shift so far so good!

Agreed, I have only read stienbeck's "the pearl" and I will say that it did seem that that way. If your going to compare cussler to someone, try Jules verne, or Tom clancy

cussler's books aren't supposed to set a new bar for literary excellence, they're just supposed to be an awesome, high thrill adventure

I love all his books,I've discovered about how great a story teller he is while browsing in one of Singapore libraries.Clive is an amazing author and yes once you've started reading you can't put down the book.
