Interview with the Creator of Shnnoogle

Connie Douglas is a Arizona-based muralist and the creator of "Shnnoogle"-- an illustrated character who appears in a book series for children. When the son of a close friend was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor, Douglas was inspired by the love and emotional support she witnessed from the boy's family relative to his improving health. From this experience, she began to create books and educational materials with the central character of "Shnnoogle" to encourage children to make choices in their lives based on love and kindness as opposed to fear and doubt. In 2005, Douglas was herself diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Facing an uncertain future, she wanted to leave behind a positive legacy that would make the world a better place, "one act of kindness at a time".
