how so? Kids was released in 2004 on the We (don't) Care EP. It was written and performed many times wayyy before 2004. So 2006 is not even close to early. Oracular Spectacular is the 2nd album that Kids appears on. So really most people are a little late. =)

@pepenores2 yea kids is all programmed which is why they don't play it live, just sing along. the info on their recording techniques is all over the internet if u search for it, producers forums etc. i also heard somewhere that its the singer himself that did the drums on some/all of the tracks...theres also footage about on youtube of them recording in the studio, and they are doing the keyboard tracks, getting the sound from the keyboard itself, like they do live, not midi via a controller.
-
how do you know that? i've seen some interviews where they said it was all made digitally. electric feel, time to pretend, etc. i mean there are obviously some tracks with evident guitar and yes obviously vocals are real, but especially on 'kids' everything was made digitally through midi programming

@pepenores2 except the drums and guitars and vocals and synths which were all recorded real.

i love the lady yelling at the people to get down at the end
september, 2006. a lot of the songs on 'oracular spectacular' are re-recordings of all-electro stuff they had released on their 'time to pretend' ep long before their record label. that's why it's just two guys and a laptop, not a full band.
