  • Hi,

First of all I think this is great, second I too am curious how you did this.

With an SLR you can use an intervalometer to take timed shots but there is no such feature on the S90 that I could find.

So... was this just a lot of hard work on your part? Taking shots every 5 minutes and then recomposing in a video editor?

Great job, but I think your youtube viewers would love to hear from you on how you made it happen.

  • he didn't use the video setting so it doesn't matter if the cam has HD..... Still pictures on a nice cam have much higher resolution than the single frames of an HD vid. what program he used to put this whole thing together I do not know, and how he took the shots I don't know... I'm assuming he just sat next to his cam and took a photo every 30 seconds or so.

  • You can use CHDK firmware loaded onto the memory card to do timelapse and other features, such as motion detection and increased video zoom.

  • 3 UFO from 00:42 wanted to be on camera.

  • What kind of battery life does it have?

  • Anyone confused on the time lapse and S90, look up Canon CHDK.

  • Did anyone see a flying objects?

  • @FlatulEssence Have looked through the manual and the closest thing to time-lapse is the self timer. Is this what you speak of? I see no time-lapse function w/in the MENU.

  • I don't see why everyone's puzzled on how he made a time-lapse.

"this is my first time-lapse video (created by Canon S90)""

Using a point and shoot camera in video mode usually has a "time-lapse setting", From there just shoot a video, then the camera processes that video making it as a time-lapse. If it was him I give him credit for all that work taking photos every 30 sec, but his description says "created by Canon S90" so I'm assuming the camera produced the time-lapse.

  • how will the sound be for a concert? a metal concert and how is the zoom range in a video will it be blurry?

  • maybe he didn't do an 'actual' time lapse and just shot a video with the camera and and used some software which maybe extracted every 900th frame (from a 30fps video) and then 'faked' a time lapse...just my idea...
