@Giampymike Artillery sure! But in real life they didn't. Tank cannons don't do much against a span like that.

WAY too much Praying Crap in this scene. NO ONE in battle has time to think about Reliion - except in the minds of writers and movie-makers that have never been there.

Now that they didn't need to worry about the Germans shooting at them, couldn't they have just sent more 82nd troops across the river and they could be infantry support for the tanks? The Germans weren't the only ones with a fail that day...
