  • I don't have a dog and no gardener with any pride in their vegetable garden would allow a dog to run around on it. If Round Up isn't good then it wouldn't be used by millions of good competent gardeners. Round Up doesn't degrade the soil and hasn't been around for even half a century. Real gardeners do not garden like cavemen and it is all about the best quality crops and the highest yields. Playing is for children........

  • @xxcolinseymourxx Your a g@d D@mned fool...round up? reallly? thats why you wouldnt take your dog in, because your laying down poison. Although alys isnt perfect, your an idiot. Try and learn a thing or two about how you "old school" gardeners and farmers have degraded our soil and caused a whole century of terrible farming practices. and the tea..ide rather drink a cup of terrible tea with her, than the most delicious cup of coffee with you(im american:-)

  • Does Alys still have her plot, how did she get on, does anyone know?

  • I agree with telemarker's comments on page 3 which have been hiden due to too many negative comments but can still be viewed. Harsh words but it does all smack of political correctness and not best gardening practice. Beginners would do well to not cling to the every word of these shows. Its all a bit too New Age and Eco Warrior style. Good amateur gardeners don't do this. I am an experienced gardener who has been a pro gardener too for many years and we certainly wouldn't go about it like this.

  • I love Jack Russel's but I wouldn't want a dog on my allotment. couch grass is better killed with Round Up and then let the digging commence. It is extremely effective on couch and travels through the long roots and kills them. The couch grass doesn't come back. It looked like she put dead grass into the kettle. the tea must have been horrible. Forking like she is doing is the wrong way and makes very hard work and an unsatisfactory job. I am an experienced gardener speaking from experience

  • The advice and the way she goes about it is all wrong and she is making hard work of it. The way to prepare a new weedy allotment is to start at one end by digging out a trench and then double dig the allotment. The perennial weeds like couch and bindweed are turned over and put down deep, the roots can easily be picked out with deep digging and deep digging causes perennial weeds to die out within 2 years as they cant stand deep cultivation. I am going to repost my double digging demo to show

  • got to love the kelly kettle
