ABA focuses on outcome rather than process. Behavior analysts continuously measure behavior to determine if progress is being made. Applied behavior analysis is data based and has the best scientifically demonstrated track record for teaching skills and replacing problem behavior with appropriate social skills.

  • @Neilgs The facial fusiform gyrus or facial fusiform area (the FFA) is very responsive to a person's behaviors, it is not hard wired for only facial recognition. In stamp collectors the FFA begins to respond to different features of stamps. In butterfly collectors the FFA begins to respond to distinctive features amongst butterflies. Hence, change the behavior of a person, i.e., what they look at a lot, you change the activity in the FFA.

  • ..but on nurturance based relationship interactions. Deepening attachment; creating meaningful joint attention by following the child's lead; engaging in his/her perseverative (non-injurious) behaviors; essentially engaging in his natural intent or affect; sensory processing differences (under, over mixed reactivities) and caregiver relationship based patterns. FOCUS always need to be on deepening lengthening Meaningful relationship based engagement; not selective skill sets which is aberration.

More specifically, on a neurological level, the integration or greater neuroplasticity strengthening between the prefrontal cortex (executive functions or praxis ) and the limbic system (e.g. the Amygdala), the fusiform face area of the fusiform gyru;, etc..The forgoing is based not on modifying external behaviors
