@Entheobotany ah I didnt word it too well. I meant that the existance of groin armor is evidence that they thought it was worth protecting because it was a valid target. The same way how, often, a helmet would be the only piece of armor a poorer soldier would have. That would be proof that the head was not only a valid target, but a primary target.
No worries about the misunderstanding. Imagine how many medieval and renaissance duels were started because of misunderstandings? ;) lol

@FoolingWithFuhlen I was understanding your statement to mean that armor always protected against groin striking, and therefore was not used. But now I think I must of misunderstood what you wrote. I apologize for the sarcasm.

@Entheobotany brother I dont see what you're trying to say. I'm agreeing with you :P
I dont really understand your sarcasm (?). I was simply adding to your statement. I know this isnt harnisfechten. I hope I'm just misubderstanding you, cuz I think we agree on this topic

@FoolingWithFuhlen Oh definitely, considering this video clearly depicts fighting in harness. It's not like ringen or blossfechten sections of manuals ever depict groin striking. Nope. Not all.
-
@Entheobotany not to mention the copious amounts of groin armor used in history. It was obviously a valid target :P
Haha just goes to show, all the finesse in the world may still give way to a kick in the jewels once in a while.

Ever tried to stab someone with a 2 1/2 foot sword when he's three inches infront of you? Martial Arts are full of get-in-close maneuvers and their essential to a well-rounded combatant.
