Why would Ax kneel down to Jake when giving him his word?

And when Ax morphs, we don't see anything below the neck/shoulders. It would have been so easy to toss him clothes, watch the Animorphs' reactions while Ax gets dressed off-screen, and then have Ax come back in.

I would think that the Animorphs would at least have clothes for Ax ready.

And why is Andalite Ax so hairy?
