It apparently wasn't just a TV show, "Perry Mason" was a call for people to become Supreme Court Justices and Senators.

During Sonia Sotomayor's Supreme Court nomination hearing she told Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) that "Perry Mason" influenced her greatly.

Later in the hearing, Senator Al Franken (D-MN) says he was a big "Perry Mason" fan too... and asks if Sotomayor can remember the one case Perry Mason lost.

Neither Franken or Sotomayor could remember the case. But our intrepid researchers tell us Perry mason lost "The Case of the Deadly Verdict." 10/17/1963. But it wasn't his fault. His client withheld evidence needed to win.

  • Its a trick question by Franken. Any real Perry Mason fan knows that this is an urban myth. Perry once lost a preliminary hearing, which is the source of this vile rumor.

  • It was well over 25% throughout the life of the series. Even though Burger was absent due to contractual issues, he was present in nearly half of the episodes throughout the seven seasons.

  • The NRA will punish any senator that votes for sotomayor confirmation.

People may take this as a threat of violence no we as group will vote for other senators come reelection time who are more interested in our god given rights per the constitution.

So remember senators mark our words vote for her and you will be looking for a new job come reelection time

  • Durning Sotomayor confirmation process she was asked,

if she felt Americans guns rights where fundamental She said no and further went on to say that states like dc should be able to write laws that suspend the constitution and ban gun rights to people living in those areas. she tried to use double talk and redefining the word fundamental to conceal her intent to disarm usa

  • Obviously she is not qualified. If she any type of legal mind, she would be discussing Mattlock

  • Franken incorrectly states the prosecutor Burger lost every week with only 1 exception. Burger didn't even face Mason as an opponent in 25% of the episodes. On one show, Burger was a consultant for Mason's defense!

  • I made it to 5-seconds and had to turn the racist off.
