iMo in Action

iMo takes computer gaming to the next level by turning an iPhone/iPod Touch into a video game controller that works with existing PC video games, giving it Wii like capabilities.

iMo transforms an iPhone/iPod Touch into a PC game controller. iMo is a really cool alternative to playing PC video games using the PC's boring keyboard/mouse. Hold the iPhone like a steering wheel and drive a race car or like a joystick to fly a fighter plane. You can use the touchpad to fire shots and wreak havoc across town by moving the iPhone - and a lot more. iMo leverages the iPhone/iPod Touch's built-in accelerometer and touch screen to not just mimic the standard game controllers such as the joystick but add a lot more control to take gaming action to the next level!

Damn...these people think in the wrong direction...The Phone as a steering device is way too unprecise. But imagine how cool it would be to use the Phone or Pad for displaying things like Maps, Spells whatever. Walking around in Fallout, the Iphone as a Pipboy with all its controls at a fingertip...You got it. there are tons of possibilitys.

a product called mungogamer exists that does the driving controller - better than this demo.

Latency is so low its not noticable, usually less than 100th of a second. If you like driving games its worth checking out, I prefer it to most plastic steering wheels.
