Aha! (Instrumental Track) by Imogen Heap
Turmeric. 2-3 x a day. Do not take when on blood thinners. This is a great herb to take to fight infection and is an incredibly powerful anti-inflammatory. Not a very water soluble herb in powder form. But it works a little. Mix with yogurt if you want, I decided to just man up and drink it straight. Not tooooo bad.

  • Hi there Herbsy, you're right about the good properties of tumeric. Also, it is often used to make tea after it has been freshly grated. It was different watching you drink it in cold/tap water. You could try boiling some water and then dissolving the tumeric inside; then drink warm at breakfast for just a couple of days. Even try the freshly grated kind when you can. BTW, wat's the movie software you used for this vid? (if u wud like to say), its nice; Thanks for the gr8 vids

  • @diffthere I have only ever been able to find the powder version. I don't have the means to get it fresh at all. Which makes me sad inside. I never tried it in warm water before. It might make it more palatable. I will try that.

  • @diffthere And the program is simply Windows Live Movie Maker.

  • I think it's just a matter of personal taste, because I enjoy this root quite a lot. :)

  • @FilipUNIBO Just keepin' it real.

  • @HerbsareLife My point was to encourage other people of trying the root, cause you never know if you'll like it or not until you try it. For example, I had a similar 'bad' experience with dandelion, comfrey and marigold. Now I'm kinda more tolerable towards them and take them with less effort...

P.S. Have you tried a decoction of rose hips and turmeric, sweetened afterwards with honey and a few drops of lemon juice?

  • @FilipUNIBO No I haven't tried a decoction like that. Regrettably, I am unable to find an actual "root" of turmeric. I also don't like using things like honey in my herbal preparation, stick up my ass I guess.

  • you should really take tumeric with olive oil - the olive oil helps ur body observe it - i used to take tumeric with olive oil 1 tsp twice a day for an illness i had at a time - it acutally cured me :)

  • Will it have the same level of potency and effectiveness if you drink it in a glass of water as if you ate it from a cup of yogurt? And I think drinking it from a straw should reduce the dyeing of one's teeth.

  • @HerbsareLife < you may find fresh turmeric at East Indian grocery stores; it looks like smaller version of ginger root. It will stain your hands if you grate it - use clean gloves or use fork to cut it without touching.

BTW, two teaspoons of turmeric + pinch of ghee(clarified butter) and some teaspoon of lemon or lime juice, in a cup of warm water would make it more effective - ghee slows down absorption.

  • @HerbsareLife Interesting, tried MovieMaker already, but U seem to hv a good handle of it, and how to use its effects; lf ever you do get a fresh tumeric root to grate, try to keep a few roots to plant, as it isnt a very fussy plant, it sprouts Well in "regular" slightly moist, warm soil. Wait a sec, cud U send ur email by private msg or somethin pls? Thanks
