Some shots of my ginrin tancho kohaku which I use as my avatar on forum sites. She's about 70cm and from Seitaro. Koi appetite has really increased since I started chilling my pond water.

@THE9LOL7ABLE My pond is currently only 4 feet deep. But I live in the tropics and would not recommend this depth to you because ponds in temperate climates have different considerations.

Did you notice any color variations after chilling your water? Nice fishes u keep!

@hirocaster After about 6 months, I noticed their skin looking better. Skin condition itself will improve the vibrancy of the colours.

@808WillyG How many fish you can viably keep in a pond of a certain size depends on your filtration system, your pond turnover rate, how rigorous your maintenance routine is, how big your koi are and how aggressively you feed your koi. So there is no fixed answer. I can probably do18-20 big koi (80cm) in my pond at the maximum. For you, you can add koi until you feel that your water quality is declining. Slowly you will learn the limits of your pond.

13 fish that seems like a very small amount. Do you have that number because you think that's the maximum you should have or just because you haven't boughten all you want yet? My pond is about 30 tons. I am trying to find out how many koi I should keep in it.
