  • Since when are the alco DL535 sandwiched between GE 90class shovelnoses?!

  • @TFN5459

That was a new practice when I was there in 2008 but I believe it no longer happenes because a pair of the rebuilt 90 class can haul the same load

  • Regular operation ceased in 1982 and the line re-opened for tourists in 1988

Engines 90 to 94 were built between 1954 and 1956

Engines 95 to 100 were built between 1963 and 1966

All will be rebuilt with new Cummins engines increasing HP to 1400

  • Is this not an narrow track railroad ?

  • @johnsenkenn

  • Great video in narrow gauge ! In Brazil, GE-Alco 244 and Baldwin AS616E locomotives was the pionner in "Centra do Brasil" railroad metric gauge , at diesel era.

    Congratulations

  • Hi, any idea when this line stopped operating regularly? (I mean: before it was turned into a touristic railway) Thanks for the video. Truly nice!

These were the last GE built with this design (cab units) - around mid 60s.

In my country, we had the first ones, built between 1949 and 1950.

  • Very well done!
