2012 - The Last Year Of "You" in YouTube

A year from now, YouTube as we know it will no
longer exist. Recent changes to the YouTube
web site are way points along their course to a
new corporate content oriented YouTube. This
new model will force the contributions of individuals
into the background.

This video is an appeal to Adobe Systems
to create the next YouTube, an "AdobeTube",
built on their Adobe Air 3.0 platform. The new site
could offer an unlimited variety of third party
developed viewing and content management
applications. And, would create an environment free
from the limitations of web browsers and the
whims of corporate giants.

The open architecture of Adobe Air applications
would also allow unlimited potential for connecting
our videos and other content to outside revenue
sources. Ones that we could choose based on
relevance to our content and earning potential
rather than having them arbitrarily assigned based
On view count alone. The Pay-Per-Action affiliate
program offered by Amazon.com is one
example of this.

Please encourage Adobe Systems to save the
original YouTube concept by creating such a site.
Post this video to the Adobe Systems channel on
YouTube, their corporate website, and other
related web sites.. And, of course, create your
own video messages..

I have no connection to, or financial interest, in
Adobe Systems. And, I am not an Adobe Air
developer. I just want to preserve the original
YouTube Concept.

Tough to judge. If youtubes changes are because the current revenue model fails, then I doubt any other company will be willing to create a harbour for a losing venture. Unless of course, the existing creative customers of youtube, that are focussed on the protest, are the predominant revenue sources. The new company would need to have the same agreements & copyright systems. What makes sense is that the pro-SOPA co's ally & create a site - control the content & force youtube to specialize. LOL!
