Like many guitarists, I had always been looking for a compressor that was transparent while still giving the sound a very pleasant thickening quality. I had used many compressor in the past and they always seemed to alter the tone in a way that sounded as if the squeezing and compressing was 'fake' - like it had a cheapening affect on the sound.

Just a thanks to Brian despite he probably does not look at these old vids anyone, thanks for the bench work and innovative talent you out into these pedals. The compressor will be my next Wampler pedal, I look forward to pairing that with the Esctasy drive for some great tones. I play heavy fusion and know nothing about country, Wampler is my #1 choice in drive/gain and compression and they blend with everything so well. Few pedals I get exceed what I expect, Wampler is heads above the rest.

If someone wanted to watch and learn some of these licks, where could you do that. Love lots of the playing on Wampler's demos. The bits I've copied sound good without any pedals, but still, lots of his pedals are great.

LOL - thanks but I'm very very rusty! I wish I had the chance to practice more. Most of the licks are just simple little tricks copped from brad paisley or brent mason type stuff.

I went to a show last night where the guitar player had THE tone. I could it was mainly from a great sounding compressor, lo and behold he had a Wampler Ego Compressor on his pedal board.

Just got the compressor today, they were sold out on my last attempt. My 3rd Wampler pedal to date. Brian's designs are the best I have played and used in decades of playing. I do not do the country thing at all, do not know how to even manage it. For my heavy Jazz Fusion ranging from clean to Pinnacle after octave, Wampler is #1 for me. I only use others if Brian does not make what I need. This Compressor, hands down a superb pedal, if I had just 1 1 pick from my uber board, this one! WAMPLER !

I run a large pedal board w an amp in and a amp loop chain, dead quiet w much effort on proper chain and buffer up front. The point of pedals is to bring to an excellent amp what an amp simply cannot do. It's like having a vast color pallet to paint with instead of a few. Just damn fun and that is why I play guitar, just damn fun having a pedalboard just sends the possibilities into infinity. I may only have 1-3 pedals on at a time but it is about options and abilities. I also have a great amp.

@CarvinTone Yes I have cured that problem, less time (and money) spent on stompboxes, more on playing and making my gear sound as good as possible. 6 effects is more than enough.

@SidHenderson do yourself a favor and stop daisy chaining power feeds, a good way to get noise and ground loop hum on true bypass pedals. The draw on most Wamplers is pretty low really, 75mA should pose no issue, however it is never recommended to pull 100% capability from a supply. The more professional supplies are isolated and filtered for each port. Voodoo Lab 2 is the top choice, I have a BBE SupraCharger which does quite well.
