Two more Filipinas convert to Islam - April 13, 2008

On April 13th, 2008 we were invited to the home of one of our avid listeners again to give dawah lectures to people from the community. We had the idea that one young woman (the one you see on the right) wanted to make her shahadah before we arrived and were surprised when another young woman (on the left) announced that she too was convinced of Islam and wanted to convert.

We record a lot of these Shahadah because we want to share the joy of the fruits of our dawah activities both on the radio and in person.

Sometimes the camera makes people nervous and I think that our new sister (on the left) was one of those. Both of the young women cried tears of joy after the shahadah and were presented with Qur'an and hijab.

Insh'Allah we will be witness to many more of these wonderful events.

Christian Filipinos call God "Diyos" in Tagalog. But Muslim Filipinos call him "Allah".

That's true, but to help people understand better a lot of times we use the word "God" or "Diyos" while giving dawah lectures.

I don't think of myself as a missionary. I'm just a Muslim guy who loves Islam and wants to share it with people. If Allah brings them to Islam while I'm there then it makes me all the happier.

Yes, I have lived in the Philippines for more than one year now and plan on staying here for many more.

subhaanallah! The second sister's last name is Mercado so she was likely raised Catholic like I was. I consider myself a better Christian through Islam... you'd have to have been Christian-turn-Muslim to understand that! ;) Christian seekers of the TRUTH of Islam, please read Qur'an, there's no better proof. I read it once because I was a skeptic and also wanted to know more... that Qur'an makes believers out of people. There's no "sword of Islam"-it IS freedom!
