how does it turn ? what would the max speed be?

This is one of the most successful walking machines especially compared to the one we tried to build. Incredible job. You deserve more fame. Can I see more videos?

I agree, it is very smooth.

@yourotheruncle So it's not a Klann linkage ? Honestly it has a really smooth gate to it you guys did a great job on it . It appears VERY well built and professional . Not how can I get plans for those legs ? chuckle ....

Very cool . This isn't using the Theo Jansen linage it looks more like the Klann linkage . Is that the case ? Did you build it or know who did build it ?

We designed a custom four bar linkage. We attempted to keep the forward motion linear, and at a constant velocity. This reduced unwanted accelerations of the vehicle. We also wanted the return motion to drop quickly and several inches at the beginning of the stroke. We needed this clearance because the vehicle went through a mud bog, and in and out of a river. There were several other constraints. With a four bar linkage, you choose your best compromise.
