A magnificent specimen of Indian bison (Gaur) spotted in famed Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur district of Vidarbha, central India, on the morning of Nov 29, 2009. Gaurs usually live in herds of up to 20 individuals though some males, like this one, also roam alone. Tadoba has several of these herds and they are easily spotted. Gaurs are related to cows, not to be confused with American bisons that are related to buffaloes.
