Additional Scripture on Baptism:
Jn 3;5, 22 born of water AND Spirit; Apostles begin baptizing
Tit. 3;5 saved us through bath of rebirth and renewal by Holy Spirit.
Acts 2;37-38 repent, be baptize, recieve gift of Holy Spirit
Acts. 22;16 get selves baptized and sins washed away
1 cor 6;11 you were washed, sanctified, justified
Rom. 6;4 baptized into death; live in newness of life
1 Pet. 3;21 baptism....now saves you
Heb 10;22 heart sprinkled, bodies washed in pure water

Jesus talks about baptism so many times in the Bible...it is not symbolic or anything like that...if it was symbolic then he would not have required it to enter Heaven.

Baptism is a one time deal because when you are baptized it marks your soul that will never be washed away.

Baptism replaces circumcision in the OT.

  • beautiful:)

  • thank you

  • Baptism is very important because by baptism, one is born again and the Holy Spirit lives in him/her. Baptism is important for salvation. Parents should baptise thier children at the first opportunity in the child's life. If the child grows up to choose a different life from christianity, thats between the individual and God. At least the parents did thier duty to introduce the child to God.

    Thanks.

    God bless †

  • I agree with this...so true...besides if one grows up and doesnt want to be a christian or whatever than the "baptism" doesnt mean anything to that person so what does it matter if the child is baptized when they are a baby or not?

Confirmation though is a different story...one must be old enough but confirmation isnt what saves you...baptism is..i agree with everything you said

  • nice, Fr. Stan Fortuna signing...

  • yep...love him

  • 1 Peter 3:20-22...patience of Godkept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.

Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you-not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience-through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

)who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.
