Mike Acosta interviewed on the Makin Music Show by Guitar Showcase in San Jose California. Mike delves into the MV-8800's hidden features and explains them with great audio demos. Live tracking of a bass guitar and sample chopping with focus on quantizing drums properly.

  • I think both are useful and it all depends on your style. In my experience the Roland OS was (is) very stable and has a consistent GUI across devices, so that ultimately helps improve workflow and keeps productivity up (at least in my case) Computers have a place but after being using them for years they need maintenance and can be buggy for no reason( but I can tweak sounds way more on a CPU)

  • @lartti83 ..COMPUTERS CRASH AND FREEZE..INTERNET SERVICE MESSES UP..I'D USE BOTH..BUT AN ALL IN ONE NON-COMPUTER MACHINE SUCH AS THIS AND A KRONOS/FANTOM/MOTIF IS BEST FOR NOT RELYING ON A COMPUTER ALL THE TIME..YOU CAN EVEN PLUG IN A GUITAR/BASS & A KEYBOARD WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT ENOUGH RAM,ETC..

  • @dougdenada66 because 1) they didn't make enough money to this company which really hasn't made anything new or innovative in the past 10 years and 2) the whole concept is stupid; why not just use a computer

  • After watching the Mike Acosta "Remix Hotel 2007" video I was sold on the MV! I honestly believe the MV8800 in time will be a legendary piece of sought after hardware like a TR808, 909 or TB303. Thanks Mike for helping the world see the power of the MV

  • @dougdenada66 I know I had an 8000 and am gunna get an 8800- I thought these things sold like hotcakes?

  • @dougdenada66 Probably because these are somewhat outdated machines. Not so much when it comes to what an artist can do with it, but more so from a pure technical perspective.

I'm still hoping for a new MV someday though. I like my MV8800 more than any DAW I've ever touched so far. There's nothing quite like using a sampler like that.

  • Why did they ever discontinue the Mv's?

  • @KnockSquared i think it is knock....but i agree with you i loved tht mv 8800
