  • what axles do you have under that thing? what size tires, and what is the gear ratio. what motor is in it?

  • Check out my build up videos. Front is Rockwell FDS75 (non Military), 13.25" dia ring gear, 7,500 lbs axle. Rear is Spicer N175, 17,500 lbs axle. 10 studs at 11.25" BC, 15.25" Discs on all 4 corners. 502 F.I. Chevy, Eaton Fuller FS7206A SAE#2 6 speed (9 to 1 low gear), Fabco TC38 transfer case weighs 475 lbs, 600 ft-lbs input torque, 2" dia shafting input and output. 70 gal fuel cell, 2 alternators, 2 batteries, front and rear winch etc etc

  • Thannks for the nice comment. Well, I never named it. We usually call it the Green Beast. One magazine called it the Beast from the East since I live in NY state!

  • On smaller vehicles the water frequently gets up to their radiators, We have seen ice slabs break off and inject into the radiators from underneath the vehicle. Nasty stuff because the spring that feeds it flows from underground even in sub zero weather.

  • Thanks a bunch. The extra width means I chain saw more than the next guy but also means I do not end up on my side (at least not yet). You should see me towing my 27 foot Boston Whaler behind this truck,. The boat is 9'7" wide and DOES need a permit. But the 133" wheelbase, 8'6" width and (I think) about 10,000 pounds of weight trailers the boat quite well, no sway. Steady. And at a rolling load of about 23,000 lbs I get 4 to 5 mpg!!! Regards.

  • Come on up to Forkston PA & I will take you on a REAL 9 mile run one way across 43,000 acres of nowhere. To do it this time of year you need 4 tire chains. Or just come up in your car & I will take you on a run in my truck. 2 hours one way on the trail. 4 hour round trip. Send e-mail to me here on youtube if you are interested.

  • Holy second comment batman!

Just a question for you 1966ih: out of curiosity, did you ever considering entering in Four Wheeler's Top Truck Challenge with this beast?

I could just imagine that thing plowing through the Tank Trap with the greatest of ease 8)
