While a student at Emory I went there once just because you're supposed to go to it at some point to say that you've been there. But after I graduated somehow I made friends who actually liked this horrid shithole, and made me return a couple of times. My God this place is nothing but digusting, gross and overpriced. Why pay a cover charge here when you can go across the street to The Local for free?
The Atlanta Time Machine has historical photos, post cards, and vintage advertising for the Clermont. Go to the Atlanta Time Machine web site, Commercial Buildings section, and look at the four 789 Ponce De Leon links.
I visited the Clermont on a regular basis somewhere in the 1980's and 1990's. The Clermont was not a strip joint, it was a neighborhood bar with dancers. Nearly all the strip joints in Atlanta had a DJ with an English accent badgering you with "No cash, no gash". The Clermont had a juke box and the girls played their favorite songs. The Clermont was not the high pressure enterprise that ran the other clubs in Atlanta. It was more like we tipped our friends to help them pay their bills.
if you dont like the claremont. please dont go there. i dont want to hang out with you if i dont have to.
