Snoopy cap

This is video documentation of my attempt to make a space suit from common household items. These are most of the parts I'll use. Missing is the plastic helmet bubble and the boots.

  • Good idea. The wrestling ear guards I used were a really good idea - super snug. The black and white is a balance thing, I actually pained some of the white near the ear guards black so it looked right, just not in this video.... give a bit more time, I could have wired the mic and earpiece to an external mic an speaker. It would have made it easier to hear people while wearing the helmet...

  • Thanks! I won $150.00 an internet costume contest with it.

  • it's a costume, not a replica. I saw the double mic's in images and felt one mic was fine and kept with the spirit of the costume. Also it allowed me to get in and out of it easier

  • This is killing me! Where's the final product!?

Where can I see this thing being worn!?

So cool but I need to see it done!

  • I love the snoopy cap. You need more black on it, though. If you look at some of the Apollo photographs, there's only enough white to cover the top of your head. I plan to actually sew my own snoopy cap together with black and white fabric. For the mics I'll use some xbox 360 headsets painted black and foam for the ears.

  • @benskitv You're gonna spend 10G on a space suit? Buy the real thing for 3Mil.

  • @seeit360 This is very cool. I think sometime soon I will work on something like this. Trying to improve everything you did. But your suit looks GREAT! Very impressed, keep up the good work.

  • wonderful job! but i decided ill buy the complete replica for $9,500. i changed my mind because the replica is a tad more realistic, and has the portable life support system. plus the helmet has two visors: gold and clear, the gold is retractable so is the clear one.
