  • The Socialist Workers Party claim to be leftist and anti-imperialist, but have been openly to sympathetic to the Taliban, Hamas, Hezballah and a whole host of extremist, right wing, despotic and imperialist movements and regimes.

They are also about as working class as a glass of Pimms.

I consider myself a leftist but find these people utterly contemptible. No wonder the Socialist movement in Britain is such a mess with these jokers at the helm.

  • Why do this lot call themselves socialist workers, when most of them are students, criminals or doleys?

  • The left is fragmented, and dissorganised?. They have no credible party to organise around?.Most of the left wing downloads, attract very little interest. Most of the working classes, support capitalism. The momentum is with the right.Nigel Farage is getting 500,000 hits?.The left is loosing the argument? The working classes are moving to the right,

  • Can someone give me some links telling me whats wrong with the swp?

  • @LoveMeLoveMyDog80 ...I know that most Muslims may not agree with the TACTICS of the Islamists, but I have never heard a Muslim argue that the Islamisation of Britain should be halted out of respect for the indigenous population. It seems there is a tacit agreement amongst the Muslim population that Britain should be Islamic.

'Indigenous rights' means rights of indigenous populations. In Britains case this means the people commonly referred to as 'white', or West European Indo-Europeans.

  • @LoveMeLoveMyDog80 Marxist groups may not intentionally seek an Islamic society but if they are not careful they may help create the space for one- law of unintended consequences. What is 'just' treatment of Muslims? Not resisting the Islamification of Britain? Surely not allowing indigenous Britons cultural self-defence is unjust? By 'overseas adventures' I assume you mean Iraq and Afghanistan - the BNP opposed those too...

  • @wodenswisdom You will not find Marxist groups supporting any calls for Islamic (or any) theocratic regime, it would be a contradiction in terms. Groups Marxists support that advocate just treatment of Muslims, and opposing overseas adventures, do not equal "Islamists", and neither do all Muslims. As for indigenous rights, that means different things in different socities and you would need to elaborate a bit on that one.

  • @LoveMeLoveMyDog80 That is the paradox I am trying to understand. Communists/socialists claim that they are atheist, but seem to have established an alliance with Islamists. Marx was atheist since he was an ardent materialist and claimed that religion was a symptom of alienation. The fact is that Muslims are not a persecuted group. They are part of an imperialist religion/ideology that threatens to eventually destroy indigenous non-Muslims cultures everywhere. What about indigenous rights?

  • @LoveMeLoveMyDog80 The only reason you don't say "religious" minorities is because it would prove my point you tedious, relativistic lefty muppet. In the name of vote-garnering, these arseholes have abandoned the project of socialism and become revisionists by getting into bed with ideas that should be their antithesis. They and you are lucky I'm not calling them stupid, I'm calling them willful, malicious opportunistic turncoats.

  • @personatoobject What has that to do with the video. The speaker is protesting against police brutality of the poor and ethnic minorities. He does not mention Islam, or is this an SWP = RESPECT rant?

  • @wodenswisdom No, you are not right. They do not support theocracy. Socialists and communists by definition support a secular political structure. That does not require that a socialist or communist be ahtiest, just the recognition that religion has no place in politics. They demand justice for all opressed groups, and since Muslims in the UK are collectively persecuted due to the actions of a few, they are seen as an opressed group whose rights need to be defended.
