  • what brand of bottled water did you use?

  • I used Aquafina or some general store brand water. I assume any brand of spring water will work just fine.

  • Yeah this video is real. My friend and I at work were looking at a bottle of water that had been left outside in the cold. I commented on it not being frozen, he picked it up and set it down and it insta-froze. I luckily was watching while it happened and was amazed. He just sent me the link to this video. Cool stuff. Does anyone have an explanation on how this works or why it happens?

  • Yeah it is a very interesting thing...but anyway there is a link in the description.

  • if you sat in a freezer for 3 hours and supercooled your face, and someone punched you in the nose, your boogers would crystalize and your head woulod fall off.

  • About how long did you freeze the water for?

  • Very interesting! I've never experienced supercooling, but I have seen superheating. On more than one occasion, I've boiled water in a pot, leave for about 10 minutes, come back, and wonder why it's not boiling? As soon as I move the pot, the thing just explodes and boils.

  • the explanation is simple, it's thermodynamics !!

the normal water froze at 0°C

but pure water doesn't freeze because it needs an germ to freeze, and in the video, the germ is the hit on the floor. you don't need any other chemical product, you just need PURE water, and it stay liquid even if you are under 0°C. I'm french, so excuse me if my english language is so poor ...

  • thanks. I realized today that the water i was using was working, just i didnt leave it to cool for long enough.

  • I just used regular fresh water from the grocery store, or you can used distilled
