How to Downgrade iPhone or iPod Touch 1/2G from 3.1.1 to 3.0 Firmware and Jailbreak Part 2

My iTouch is 2nd generation (2G)

Hot to put your iTouch or iPhone in DFU mode(recovery mode)
1. Turn off the device
2. MAKE sure the device is connected to iTunes
3. HOLD THE POWER button and HOME BUTTON TOGETHER for about 10 seconds,
4. RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON ONLY and KEEP holding the HOME BUTTON for another 10 seconds or so.
You should see a message pop up in itunes saying that your device is in DFU mode / Recovery mode

when i download a firmware it come as a winrar or normal file and i cant get like the box icon wiht i number on it that what i need it how do i get that if u can help me can u send me a link please thank for the help

@hammy12233 You need to change the extension of the downloaded file to .ipsw from whatever the previous extension was. This will then open the file by default with iTunes.

Dude does that method works with ipod 3g it was originally 3.1.1
