  • Great Video, but out of sync

  • For me, this UK version felt ill at ease, a bit strained and not quite adapted enough for the British audience.

They tried very hard to make it lavish, but to be honest, despite the impressive set, you can very much hear the echo's of Bullseye, in the atmosphere of that studio (although, you can't beat a bit of bully.).

I know I'm being quite negative, but I did used to feel very underwhelmed by it (and dare I push it further by saying I was actually bored by it?).

    Sorry $64k-Q fans. :-I

  • @fraserkatie Yeah, the 'Isolator' if I remember rightly. The main things I remember about this show were the overly-dramatic theme music considering how low the prize money was (whether it was TVs biggest cash prize or not) and the Isolator descending surrounded by lots of pneumatic jets of air. Ridiculously over the top.

  • @shoredude2 The prize wasn't in dollars, it was called $64,000 question because that was the original american title. However the top prize was nowhere near $64,000 (probably due to restrictions placed by the ITC). The top prize was £6,400.

  • Why would a British quiz show have a prize in dollars?

  • I used to love the space pod thing they brought down at the end , when the person was trying to win the cash!

  • @ukgoldfan 1993 actually

  • I really want to see this show back on Challenge as well. Anybody remember the 2 famous out-takes of this show? 1) Bob trying to open the briefcase, but can't.

    2) Bob asking a contestant if she wishes to 'p*ss' instead of 'pass'.

  • I'd also like to see repeats of this show on challenge (though they might feel that WWTBAMillionaire makes it somewhat redundant). I'd also like to see a sync'd version of the opening at some point on you tube - but I certainly appreciate this video being posted in the first place!

  • good god i have been looking for this opening titles for ages i used to love this programme and the theme tune with the late bob monkhouse.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing again!

  • Its should be repeate on Challenge
