  • so the winning country hosts the next eurovision song contest right? sorry, but being an american, i'm not too familiar with the way how which country hosts the event.

  • Yeap usually the winner hosts the next contest, but in 1979 Israel won the contest again after winning in 1978. Their budget was gone on the 1979 contest, and so they invited other broadcasters to take over, the Netherlands finally had the honour.

  • Why couldn't Israel host or even participate in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest?

  • Una magnífica canción!!

  • @deloufu Well, the word "Hallelujah" means "praise G-d" in Hebrew, and its origin is in the book of Tehilim (Psalms) written by king David. The song's lyrics, however, are about gratitude but are modern. For their translation - search for "Diggiloo" site.

  • It was also Israels rememberance Day ( 19th Aprtil)

  • @09:05-10:01. nice view. the contestants from other countries still happy and enjoy the song, even they're not win the contest.

  • @0:01-0:06. why does the israel official forbid the drinking (or wine, i dont know) ?

  • THIS IS TOO MUCH BETTER THAN ABBA'S WATERLOO FROM SWEDEN!

I think this is the best Eurovision song Ever!!!

  • @FlavioGirl I found out about Eurovision because of Wikipedia's page too, but back in 2006. :p

  • Yeah I live also in North America and I am not familar with the way North America would do this never ever heard of it over hear never ever heard the hallelujah song over here neither

  • I need some help on this please. Isn't this song a Jewish/Hebrew prayer? If anyone knows could they please be kind enough to post it please thank you.
