@NeoVictorianX Morality has become the new "immorality" which is viewed as a social stigma. If you tell someone that you don't drink or believe in the importance of marriage, folks will look at you like you've lost your marbles. If you tell those same people that you sleep with 10 different women every week and drink yourself silly every day, they won't bat an eye. People love freedom. They don't like to be reminded of the fact that it is law, not freedom which separates men from apes.

"Society broke"... I like that. Violet was the bad girl but she had more scruples than the average girl today, who is little more than a dollymop. We have become so disgusting. Embrace Neo-Victorianism.

@AICILA77783 See above. Keep in mind this was set during a better time ... before society broke. Best movie of all time!

@AICILA77783 Well, i suppose at that time it would have been a scandal for an unmarried woman to be acting like that with george and doing everything he was asking her to do...thats what i thought it meant anyway!
-
I don't understand it when says it would be a terrific scandal and everyone will talk.

lol the way she says '....what...' makes me laugh

i never understood this....she was all over him...and then she gets upset about those ideas....geez
Violet was looking for a good time not do what George was talking about. Now Mary would have done what he wanted. She was more opened minded.
